Timothy W. Mizerowski

Timothy W. Mizerowski is the principal shareholder and Senior Partner of Mizerowski Thon & Parker, P.C.. In practice since 1990, he initially specialized in litigation matters, both insurance claims and commercial disputes, and now his practice has evolved to include commercial transactional and banking matters. His extensive insurance defense litigation experience includes first and third party automobile litigation, premises liability claims, insurance coverage disputes and subrogation matters. He also has been involved in the defense of professional liability matters involving agents, and brokers. Mr. Mizerowski has litigated real estate and title insurance claims as well as worker’s compensation claims.

His corporate business experience includes the formation and representation of numerous companies in varying business silos such as: banking, high tech, non-profit, manufacturing, commercial furniture distribution and construction companies. He regularly counsels clients investigating business opportunities, drafts corporate documents and participates in strategic business planning. Not only is his corporate involvement in transactional matters, he is also regularly involved in complex commercial litigation for the firm's business clients and is retained in commercial bankruptcy matters.

Mr. Mizerowski has tried to verdict numerous cases involving heavy truck, automobile and amusement park accidents, as well as claims before the Worker’s Compensation Board of Magistrates. Additionally, Mr. Mizerowski has successfully defended numerous corporations and professionals utilizing Alternative Dispute Resolution including binding Arbitration and Facilitative Mediation.

Receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan in 1987, Mr. Mizerowski earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Detroit College of Law in 1990. While at the Detroit College of Law, he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Corporations and was awarded the Manufacturer’s National Bank Scholarship for outstanding legal scholarship.

A member of the State Bar of Michigan including the Insurance Defense and Business Law Sections, Mr. Mizerowski is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel. Mr. Mizerowski is licensed to practice in all courts in the State of Michigan and in both the Eastern and Western United States Federal District Courts for Michigan. He is also admitted to the United States Federal Court of Claims.

Mr. Mizerowski has had several reported decisions in the Michigan Court of Appeals Reporter including Auto Owners v. Perry, 223 Mich App 1 (1997) and Auto Owners v. Michigan Mutual, et al., 223 Mich App 205 (1997). He served as a lecturer at the National Business Institute’s Michigan Labor and Employment Law Seminar and the Michigan Risk and Insurance Managers Annual Meeting.

Mr. Mizerowski regularly acts as a teacher and trainer to numerous regional and national insurance companies and corporations, lecturing on new developments in the Michigan No-Fault Law and Worker’s Compensation law.

Roger J. Thon

Roger J. Thon joined Mizerowski Thon & Parker, P.C.. in March 2011. He focuses a majority of his practice in insurance defense litigation, representing insurers and their insured’s in personal injury defense, coverage disputes and subrogation matters. Mr. Thon also works in developing Mizerowski Thon & Parker transportation and logistics law department, providing services to both large and small interstate motor carriers.

Mr. Thon began his legal career practicing in a prominent plaintiff’s auto negligence litigation firm, becoming well versed in Michigan’s first and third party auto laws, and assisting in litigation involving catastrophic truck accidents. This experience offers our clients a unique perspective in handling and defending no fault, uninsured motorist, and bodily injury claims.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Thon worked with several large companies in the transportation and logistics industry, learning the “ins and outs” of federal regulations affecting interstate motor carriers. This specialized knowledge, combined with his experience in transportation litigation, gave Mr. Thon the opportunity to serve as a frequent guest speaker at truck safety seminars and conventions.

Mr. Thon graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, serving as an associate editor of the UDM Law Review and as a national competitor for the law school’s Moot Court Board of Advocates. He also received honors for the best examination response in Tort Law. Mr. Thon is also a frequent guest lecturer at Detroit Mercy School of Law lecturing students on Michigan No Fault law.

A native ‘Hoosier’ from Indiana, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Valparaiso University, majoring in History and Political Science. He earned academic honors by being named on the Dean’s List and was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternity. Mr. Thon also served in the University’s Student Senate.

William L. Parker

William L. Parker joined Mizerowski, Thon & Parker P.C. in 2013. Bill has been defending first and third party auto claims for more than 20 years in both trial courts and appellate courts. In addition to automobile actions, he has litigated a broad range of personal injury and wrongful death claims including premises liability, marine/boating, off road vehicle and dog bite claims. He further regularly assists clients with providing opinions on coverage disputes and litigating coverage disputes.

Mr. Parker also has extensive litigation experience in defending municipal entities throughout the State of Michigan in a variety of actions, including advising and litigating employment claims, zoning disputes, Freedom of Information Act claims, personal injury claims as well as a myriad of other claims unique to municipalities.

Mr. Parker has extensive experience in litigating employment claims for both municipalities and businesses, including claims involving discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblower/retaliation, disability, wage and hour and a variety of Constitutional and Title VII based claims. Mr. Parker has been a lecturer at Municipal Claims Conferences on various subjects including First Amendment employment litigation, whistleblower claims, zoning litigation and has presented case overviews involving complex employment litigation matters.

A 1991 graduate of Albion College, Mr. Parker went on to obtain his juris doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1994. He was judicial clerk in the 50th District Court in Pontiac, Michigan in the summer of 1993 and was a judicial clerk in the 52-1st District Court in Novi, Michigan from 1993 to 1994. He has practiced in both State and Federal Courts throughout the State of Michigan, including the Michigan Court of Appeals. He also has successful litigated appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
